Book Review: Breaking Him by Sherilee Gray

August 26, 2016

Amazon | Barnes and Noble | Kobo

I loved the romance in this book! It was so sweet to see the characters fall in love, and I liked the conflict and challenge of them being together. It made their joining all the sweeter.

Elijah Hays is a murderer. Everyone knows it. Problem is that they don't care that he killed his father to protect his mother, so he's an outcast in town. This also means he's a rare breed of man - a muscular, gorgeous, gentle virgin. Abigail has always looked past Eli's history and been more interested in the man he is now. She decides to seduce him and show him how to love a woman.

Eli is a sweetheart, and he and Abi make a very good couple. She helps him heal and love, and he supports and protects her. They are an extremely sexual couple, which startled me quite a bit. The book was not labeled as erotica in NetGalley, and it most certainly is erotica. But the romance in between the sex and lust is beautiful. I loved seeing Eli come out of his shell, and their love for one another practically shone off the pages.

I really enjoyed the story as a whole. On a scale of 1 to 10 for steaminess, it is definitely a 10. No, make that an 11. It has all the romantic feels of a Sherrilyn Kenyon novel (if you read her books, you know what I mean) and all the sex appeal of 50 Shades of Grey. A nice mix for a romance reader!
