What an interesting story! It was a twist on the classic Frankenstein horror tale, with a dash of romance and mystery mixed in. Loved it! Though I will say the gory bits were a bit much at times. I have a weak stomach!

To begin with, the world building is very well done! It's a world living alongside ours, where there are five groups - the shifters, the wolves, the vampires, the witches, and the immortals. They are led by one of Dr. Frankenstein's descendants, who is an immortal. The immortals have a secret formula to become that way, and they replenish their body parts using live "donors." No one gets along completely, though the shifters are the biggest problem. They want to overthrow the immortal leader.

19-year-old Rebekah von Stein is the princess of the Patchwork. Her father, an immortal descendant of Dr. Frankenstein, had a one-night stand with a human, and Rebekah was the result. Perhaps because she's part human, her father has been unsuccessful in his attempts to make her immortal, so she is kept locked up in her house to keep her from harm. She's only allowed to leave to go to work at a bar next to her home, accompanied by a bodyguard and often one of her brothers. While at work one night, her boss hires a new employee - Killian, a vampire. He is sexy, charming, and he makes Rebekah laugh. She begins to fall for him, when he suddenly disappears. When she finally finds him, she discovers a shocking blast from her past that will change her life forever.

I don't do spoilers, so I can't write about Rebekah and Killian's relationship. Suffice it to say that they were a really likeable couple, and I want more. This definitely keeps you captivated until the very end!

While the ending is not a cliffhanger, it hints at another book. I sincerely hope so! Rebekah has some hot brothers who need their story told. Especially Oceanus and his star-crossed love.
